British Pain Society



“The British Pain Society is the largest multidisciplinary professional organisation in the field of pain within the UK. Our membership comprises medical pain specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, scientists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals actively engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of pain and in pain research for the benefit of patients.”

North British Pain Association



The North British Pain Association was founded in 1984 and consists of over 200 members from Scotland and the North of England. Membership consists of doctors working in pain or palliative care and nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists and others with an interest in pain management. 

Apart from regular meetings, other activities of the Association include support for members through travel grants and research grants and also efforts to encourage a greater awareness of the importance of pain management in political and managerial circles.
